Why Moving to Canada May be a Bad Idea...

Ahhh, the Great White North! The land of opportunity and maple syrup.

We know you researched why Canada is a wonderful place to live before deciding that Canada was right for you, did you research why Canada may not be so great?

This post is for you! Let’s take a look at 5 different provinces and go through their WORST qualities.

Saskatchewan

Land of the living skies!

The name comes from Saskatchewan's beautiful sunrises and sunsets and it’s true! Saskatchewan does have incredible sunrises and sunsets but it also has WIND all. The. time.

(that should have been the real inspiration behind the name)

Alberta

Quick! What comes to mind when I mention the word "Alberta"? Let me guess, you answered "Banff" or "cowboys," which are both right, but you need also keep "construction" in mind.

If you're thinking about moving to Alberta, you're probably thinking about Calgary or Edmonton. Both cities are gorgeous, yet they are constantly under construction. Be prepared to exercise patience and leave early because your commute will most likely take an extra 20 minutes.

Manitoba

Manitoba, I adore you, but let's be honest: you don't have a lot going for you.

If you prefer to live in a metropolitan region, Winnipeg is one of your only options in this province, and it is chilly. Winters in Manitoba are long and extremely cold. There's a reason Winnipeg is nicknamed "Winterpeg." Seriously, have you seen pictures of Winnipeg in January?!

Ontario

If you prefer spending the day on the water, Ontario has the most freshwater lakes. Who else enjoys the water? Bugs! In Ontario, mosquitoes, black flies, and horse flies are abundant. Summer isn't complete without a few bites. Fortunately, winter lasts for seven months.

British Columbia

The perfect province for those that enjoy the outdoors! It’s a good thing the beautiful scenery is free because everything else costs a fortune. The average rent in Vancouver for a 1 bedroom apartment is $2,300 and grocery prices are up. Vancouver currently has the highest cost of living in Canada.

Did we Lose you?

We hope this post didn’t discourage you from wanting to move to Canada because, while we

want you to be armed with all the information, we also want to welcome you to this wonderful country!

Moving to another country is always painful. It is very important to find good housing and arrange it so that it is always comfortable. I contacted Solomia Home Dubai to furnish my new apartment. I didn't have any good home improvement ideas. I'm glad I found good designers who helped me with this.
