Public Alert: Fraudulent Immigration Documents in Circulation

The Department of Immigration, Population Growth, and Skills is issuing a public advisory regarding fraudulent immigration documents purporting to be issued by the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM). These deceptive documents can potentially jeopardize your immigration journey.

Documents Being Falsifield

Scammers are creating counterfeit versions of important immigration documents, including:

  • Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) nomination certificates

  • Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) endorsement certificates

  • Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) endorsement certificates

  • Letters of support for work permits

Identifying Genuine Documents:

The Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM) prioritizes secure communication and utilizes password-protected PDFs for all official documentation, including NLPNP nominations and AIP endorsements, sent exclusively via email.

It is important to note that the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM) never requests payment for any service, encompassing application processing and government fees.

How to Protect Yourself:

  • Maintain Account Security: Establish a dedicated Immigration Accelerator profile using a unique email address and password. This information should be kept confidential and never shared with third parties.

  • Verification is Key: If a third party created your Immigration Accelerator account, obtain your login credentials and review all uploaded documents.

  • Free Services Provided: Be aware that all OIM programs and document issuance are entirely free of charge. Do not be misled into paying for services offered at no cost.

  • Free Navigation Support: The OIM offers complimentary navigation services to guide applicants through the NLPNP or AIP process.

What next?

Vigilance and informed decision-making are crucial in preventing immigration fraud! In the event of any suspected fraudulent activity, please promptly report it through the designated official channels.
