What is the Moving Bonus Program?
The Moving Bonus Program is Alberta's latest strategy to address critical labor shortages in key trades by attracting top talent from across Canada. Starting May 1, 2025, eligible individuals can apply for this one-time bonus if they meet the outlined criteria. Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the Moving Bonus, you must:
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident aged 18 or older.
Have moved to Alberta between May 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024.
Be a tax resident of Alberta and provide a 2024 Notice of Assessment from the CRA.
Have resided in Alberta for at least 12 consecutive months by the time of application.
