What is the Moving Bonus Program?

The Moving Bonus Program is Alberta's latest strategy to address critical labor shortages in key trades by attracting top talent from across Canada. Starting May 1, 2025, eligible individuals can apply for this one-time bonus if they meet the outlined criteria. With only 2,000 spots available, the program is designed to reward skilled professionals who are ready to contribute to Alberta's thriving industries.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the Moving Bonus, you must:

• Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident aged 18 or older.

• Have moved to Alberta between May 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024.

• Be a tax resident of Alberta and provide a 2024 Notice of Assessment from the CRA.

• Have resided in Alberta for at least 12 consecutive months by the time of application.

• Be employed or self-employed in an eligible skilled trade.
